Two weekends full of performances celebrating 25 years in Waterbury! December 8th, 13th-14th
with A Christmas Carol, Dia de Los Reyes, & A Gift of Peace.


December 8th at 12:00pm: A Christmas Carol. Charles Dickens’ beloved classic is brought to
life by Doug Schlicher in a dramatized reading this holiday season at Shakesperience!
Ebenezer Scrooge wasn’t always a tight-fisted old miser. On a cold and foggy London evening,
he is transported by ghosts to Christmases, past, present, and future. With his wretched future
stretched out before him, Scrooge must truly consider the meaning of charity and the Christmas
spirit.

December 13th & 14th at 7:00pm: Dia de Los Reyes! Step into a world of wonder and tradition
with our Dia de Los Reyes performance! Join us for a captivating journey through the lives of
five Waterbury Residents and the comedy that ensues as the three kings make their way from
Puerto Rico to the Brass City! Be prepared to be mesmerized by the rhythmic beats of live
music, the dazzling choreography of colorful dances, and the heartfelt storytelling that brings the
Nativity story to life.

December 14th at 2:00pm: A Gift of Peace. Conceived by Emily Mattina And written by Jacob
Green, this production blends the best of our company for a deserving community, this holiday
season. Talented Shakesperience Acting Intensives students, Resident Artists, and community
actors present three short stories (“The Gift of the Magi,” “Silent Night: The Christmas Eve
Truce,” and “Holiday in Winterberry”). The result is a multi-denominational, non-materialistic
focus on the season of giving!

Shakesperience is a nonprofit professional theater company located in Connecticut that reaches
a Northeast audience of adults and students alike with outdoor and in-studio performances,
Saturday and private acting classes, school & camp tours, and residency programs.
Shakesperience was founded in 1996 by Emily Mattina and Jeffrey Lapham with a mission to
educate and inspire students, families, and theater professionals through the arts.
