Homeowner Interrupts Burglary In Progress: Naugatuck Police
Police said a Naugatuck homeowner returned home Thursday evening and interrupted a burglary in progress.

NAUGATUCK, CT β Officers were called to an Osborn Road home Thursday around 5:30 p.m. after a homeowner returned home for the evening and interrupted a burglary in progress, police said.
According to a news release, police believed the suspects were armed and still inside the home when officers arrived in the area. As a result, additional officers and police K9s were requested.
After further investigation, police discovered the suspects had fled the home prior to officers' arrival.

Police said they continued to maintain a heavy presence in the area Thursday night, however there was no threat to the community.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that this was not a random occurrence, but that the victim may have been targeted," police said in a news release.
