In the coming weeks, you will be hearing from schools regarding plans for June conferences as well as scheduled times in June to pick up student belongings. Schools will also be distributing Scholastic book packs for every PK-8 child thanks to the State Department of Education and a generous donation from the Nooyi Family. The books will be yours to keep.

I am also happy to share with you that the State will distributing additional money directly to families for groceries through the Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) Program. Because we have Free lunch programs in all of our schools, each NPS family will be mailed a debit EBT card worth approximately $350 per K-12 student enrolled in our district. These EBT cards will be mailed directly to you from the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) based on the primary address on file in our PowerSchool Database. PLEASE email or call your school secretary if you need to update address information by Monday by 4:00pm. The debit cards will be mailed with instructions in Late May through the end of June. You can link to information about the State’s P-EBT program on our website.

Please know how grateful we are for your continued partnership as we continue with distance learning for the remainder of the school year. We remain committed to supporting you in any way possible. Our plans for summer programming and next school year will be developed based on guidance from the state and communicated as soon as possible.

Thank you,
Superintendent Locke
