Our associates are working hard to keep stores stocked and sanitized for you. We’re dedicating associates in every store to clean high-traffic, high-touch areas, like checkouts and shopping carts, every day. We’re also installing sneeze guards in our pharmacy and register lanes, and floor decals at both the entrances and checkouts, to help you maintain proper social distancing.
Additionally, we’re using a single, clearly designated entrance and another clearly designated exit at each store to help maintain social distancing and lessen the instances of people closely passing each other. We’re also limiting the number of people in a store at once to allow no more than five customers for each 1,000 square feet at a given time, roughly 20 percent of a store’s capacity. You can read more about these efforts here.

Store Hours

Effective Mar. 15, our stores and Neighborhood Markets are open from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. to further give our associates the time they need to stock products and clean thoroughly. And, of course, in areas with curfews, we want to make sure everyone is able to do their work and be home on time.

Additionally, from March 24 through the end of May, our stores will host a senior shopping hour every Tuesday for customers age 60 and older who may be more vulnerable. This will start one hour before the store opens. Our pharmacies and vision centers will also be open during this time.

Looking for the most up-to-date store hours? Check the store finder on our site or app for your local store’s hours, including pharmacy and vision centers.

Pharmacy Update

Pharmacy associates are working to make sure everyone has the medicine they need. Most Walmart pharmacies are open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. We also have a dedicated shopping hour on Tuesday mornings from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. for seniors ages 60 and older.

For seniors and those at high-risk for COVID-19, we have a variety of ways to serve you, including drive-thru, no-contact curbside pickup and mail delivery. Call your pharmacy to see which options are available.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath, seek medical attention. If you have these symptoms, or if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19, you won’t need to visit a store; simply contact your pharmacy, and we’ll help find a way to help you get your medications.

We’re working on your behalf with insurance companies to identify additional options that may be available for you at this time (like filling more than a month of a prescription at once).
If you are in our SMS (text message) alert program, you’ll get updates on ways we’re making it easier to get your medicine, like curbside pickup or mail-to-home, as well as keeping you updated on any changes to pharmacy hours.

Vision Center Update

Lost or broke your glasses? Run out of contacts? We’re here to serve emergency or essential needs, as well as existing order pickups, with modified hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in most locations — check the store finder before you head out. Please note that we won’t be able to accept new orders for non-emergency or non-essential needs until further notice, in order to keep you and our associates safe.

Other Services

Our people are working hard to have every part of the store ready to serve customers. To help support our people and focus on the most critical areas of the store right now, we will temporarily shut down our Auto Care Centers to allow those associates to focus on stocking and cleaning in the rest of the store. Similarly, some stores may choose to suspend jewelry counter services, including ear piercing and jewelry repair.

Answering Your Questions

Available Inventory

As you probably know, there’s a very high demand for paper goods, cleaning supplies, and similar items. As we work to restock those high-demand products as fast as possible, we have to limit the number that can be purchased.

Based on current supply, item quantity limits on milk, water, eggs and other basics have been removed on in-store purchases. To help manage product availability for grocery pickup customers, we continue to have quantity limits on these product purchases online. The current item limit for eggs is 2, and we’ve raised the item limit of milk and water to 6. As this situation evolves, we will continue to evaluate supply and adjust product limits accordingly.

No-Contact Pickup & Delivery

You can order groceries from us online or in our app anytime. One of our associates will pick your order and bring it out to the curb when you arrive. This is a great way to maintain social distance.

  • Pickup: No-contact pickup is now available. You’ll no longer have to sign for your order. An associate will simply put your order in your trunk / car.
  • Delivery: Our drivers are practicing social distancing: when picking up your order at the store, they’ll stay in the car while an associate loads the order into their vehicle. You can also authorize the driver to simply leave the order at your doorstep rather than having to sign for it.

Order Delays and Cancellations

There are millions of people ordering online right now, so you might encounter delays, cancellations or longer wait times during pickup. We understand how frustrating that may be and assure you that we’re doing our best to serve as many customers as possible. We’ll keep you updated via email, text message, website and mobile app to alert you of any potential delays or increased wait times at your store.

Associate Support

Your health and our associates’ health are top priority. Anyone who thinks they may have COVID-19 related symptoms, illness or concerns should stay home, including our associates. We’ve set a new policy to support any associate who may be affected by the virus—including paid leave for those who are required to self-quarantine. You can read more about what we’re doing for our associates here.

Community Support
To help meet critical needs, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation have committed $25 million to support organizations on the front lines responding to the outbreak. Get details on these grants here.

Temporary Return Policy Change

We are temporarily not processing returns/exchanges in our stores of: food, paper goods, home cleaning supplies, laundry soap, pharmacy, health & beauty and apparel.

If you need to return any item, including those above, and have a receipt, please start your return on the Walmart app or at Walmart.com. It’s easy and may allow you to complete your return without coming to the store.

If you’re not able to return the item online, don’t worry! Once returns reopen for impacted categories, we will be extending the return period by 6 weeks for those items.
