The teachers and staff of Cross Street met at the school at 9:00am to load their signs into their vehicles. The teachers then headed out their students homes and placed a sign on there front lawn.

Laurie Taf Jackson, a paraprofessional at Cross Street, ordered the signs and told me as soon as they came in last week that they look awesome. Cross Street art teacher Jon Sciacca designed the sign.

"Since the kids can’t have their school dance, end of the year celebration or the T- shirt that we give each of them, we thought the sign would be great for them to let them know we are thinking of them," Mrs. Jackson wrote in her invitation to follow her as she distributed signs to the students in two Cross Street classes.

I was glad to be able to follow Mrs. Joanne Piccirillo, a teacher of Grade 6 Humanities at Cross Street, and Mrs. Jackson around the school's district delivering the blue and white signs to the students in the classes of Mrs. Piccirillo and Mrs. Virginia Digrazia, a teacher of Grade 6 STEM.

Mrs. Jackson told me that she "had such a fun day this morning putting out the signs with you and Joanne. I really enjoyed it and seeing a smile on their faces made me smile and I had tears in my eyes as well. Since I don’t get to see them any more, I was glad I was able to wish a few of them well and good luck in 7th grade. "
