Ion Insurance Corp. Moves into New Larger Naugatuck Location
The new headquarters is on Cherry Street in downtown Naugatuck.

Ion Insurance Corp. has completed the move to their new headquarters at 24 Cherry Street, a larger and more visible location in downtown Naugatuck.
At 5,000 square feet, this new location provides the company with a 21 percent increase in usable office space. The new headquarters enabled the company to add new work stations to
accommodate a greater number of employees due to the recent acquisition of Drescher Insurance.

The new quarters has enabled the company to redesign and modernize its office environment, introduce wireless access throughout the building, and upgrade its phone system, its computer system and its servers.

Ion Insurance is a 99 year old full-service community insurance agency that was founded in Naugatuck as John M. Sutherland Inc. in 1915. The agency was acquired by Nutmeg Financial Mutual Holding Co., the precursor to Ion Financial MHC, in 2005. Its name was changed to Ion Insurance in the fall of 2013. In September 2014 Ion Insurance acquired the Drescher Agency of Cheshire.
