WATR hosts annual food drive in honor of late broadcaster Jim Senich

WATERBURY – The third annual James J. Senich Memorial Food Drive on Sunday will again benefit the St. Vincent DePaul Mission of Waterbury.

The collection, hosted by WATR Radio, will run from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside Labonne’s Market, 75 Waterbury Rd. in Prospect.

Donations requested to support the soup kitchen include rice, powdered milk, instant potatoes, pasta and pasta sauce and vegetable and canola cooking oil. Other nonperishables and snacks are also welcome.

Senich, born and raised in Waterbury, was a veteran broadcaster and journalist in the state. At WATR, he served in numerous roles through the years, including news and sports director and talk host.
