Wall Street Journal editor-in-chief and Financial Times U.S. managing editor to discuss ‘Journalism and Managing a Newsroom during a Crisis’ at Quinnipiac University webinar on July 17

HAMDEN, CT – Matt Murray, editor-in-chief of the Wall Street Journal, and Peter Spiegel, Financial Times U.S. managing editor, will discuss “Journalism and Managing a Newsroom during a Crisis” with Chris Roush, dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University, and Daryl Richard, vice president for marketing and communications at Quinnipiac, at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 17.

“Every news operation in the world has had to change how it produces and disseminates content in the last six months,” Roush said. “Peter and Matt have been at the forefront of such changes, and their publications have continued to produce top-quality content in the face of the pandemic’s hurdles.”

Murray is editor-in-chief of The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires. He is responsible for all global newsgathering and editorial operations. Murray previously served as executive editor since 2017 and had been deputy editor in chief since 2013. He joined Dow Jones & Co. in 1994 as a reporter for the Pittsburgh bureau.

Spiegel is U.S. managing editor of the Financial Times, overseeing editorial operations in the U.S. and the Americas from its regional headquarters in New York. He assumed the position in April 2019 after spending three years as news editor in London, where he oversaw the FT’s daily news operation both in print and online.
