K9 Indy's Birthday Bash Celebrated on Saturday (PHOTOS)

NAUGATUCK - Many came out on Saturday to celebrate the fifth birthday of Naugatuck's furry friend K9 Indy.

The event was originally scheduled to take place on the Naugatuck Green, but because of the constant rainfall predicted, the party was moved indoors to the gym at Hillside Intermediate School. The youngest birthday guests did not seem to mind that the bounce house had been set up inside.

It was an action-packed day for those who attended the birthday celebration. Food trucks were parked in one of the parking lots near the school. There were raffles and plenty of information about wellness services, as well as canine-themed vendors. A DJ played music throughout the event.

A popular draw were meet & greets with talented, well-behaved police dog teams from all over Connecticut. Predictably, the birthday boy himself, the ever-patient black lab K9 Indy, was often surrounded by his fans. Some young d0g-lovers has their photo taken with Indy, while others just wanted to pet him while wishing him a Happy Birthday.
