Knives, Gun, Alcohol, and Pot Found During Traffic Stop: Police
Four teens were arrested on various charges and one teen is being held on a $150,000 bond, Naugatuck Police say.
NAUGATUCK, CT β A traffic stop led to the arrest of four people including two juveniles who were inside a car containing drugs, alcohol, throwing knives, and a handgun, Naugatuck Police say.
At 6 p.m. on April 13, Officer John Williams conducted a traffic stop on Rubber Avenue. The vehicle was being driven by Raymond Williams, 19, of High Street. The vehicle had three passengers, Hypatia Areizaga, 19, of Aetna Street, as well as two juvenile passengers, police said.
Police said they found alcohol in the car, however all the occupants were under the legal age to possess them. Police also found marijuana, a scale used to weigh marijuana, bags used to package marijuana, paraphernalia used to smoke marijuana, bottles of open and partially consumed beer, large fixed-blade "throwing" knives, and a Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun, police said.

This investigation revealed the handgun was recently stolen from a residence within the Borough of Naugatuck, police said. Williams does not have a pistol permit and is also the subject of a protective order issued in a separate case that stipulates he is not allowed to possess any firearms, police said.
Williams is charged with weapons in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit, stealing a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm, risk of injury to a minor, serving liquor to a minor, violation of a protective order, drug paraphernalia, and possession of under one half ounce of marijuana.

Areizaga is charged with risk of injury to a minor and serving liquor to a minor. The two juveniles were also charged too. Both juveniles were released to the custody of a parent and scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court.
Areizaga was released upon a written promise to appear, and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Williams was held on a $150,000 bond.
