LaBonne's Markets To Hold Grand Opening Festivities In Prospect
The latest of four area LaBonne's Markets will open its doors on Saturday, Sept. 26.
PROSPECT, CT —Mayor Bob Chatfield will be cutting the ribbon at a ceremony celebrating the grand opening of a new market in town.
The latest of four area LaBonne's Markets will open its doors at 75 Waterbury Road on Saturday, Sept. 26, with festivities from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
LaBonne’s Markets, all owned by Bob LaBonne Jr. and Robert LaBonne III, offer a wide selection of goods including humanely raised meats, fresh seafood, vegetarian and vegan options, organic produce, store made meals and sandwiches, craft beer,and specialty local products.

The ribbon cutting will commence at 8 a.m., when Chatfield will be joined by the LaBonne family. From 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., guests can expect local food trucks, live music, live comedy, games, giveaways, and over two dozen local vendor and organization information and sample booths. For children, The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department and EMS will be hosting a show and tell of their emergency response vehicles, the Prospect Police Department will be staging a meet and greet with K-9 unit Mayhem, and LaBonne’s LaBear will be handing out free cookies, bananas, balloons, and LaBonne's branded neck gaiters.
The LaBonne family began its relationship with Prospect in late December 2019 when they acquired the former Oliver's Supermarket. They operate other stores in Watertown, Woodbury, and Salisbury.
