Landmark Community Theatre Relocates to Thomaston High School to Present “The Wizard of Oz in Concert” Amid Opera House Renovations

Landmark Community Theatre is excited to announce that the long-awaited renovations of the historic Thomaston Opera House have begun. The first phase of renovations will see the restoration of the Opera House’s artwork, including refurbishing the spectacular Romanesque ceiling and the installation of a large stage-accessible elevator for mobility-challenged individuals. While the restoration and renovation will breathe new life into this beloved theater, it has also resulted in the temporary closure of the Opera House. For this reason, Landmark must move both its summer production, “The Wizard of Oz in Concert,” and its upcoming teen drama production, “Mean Girls,” to Thomaston High School.

“The Wizard of Oz” in concert is in its second weekend, with performances on Friday, July 26th and Saturday, July 27th at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 27th at 2 p.m. Join Dorothy (Reilly Lincavicks) and her friends Scarecrow (Steffon Sampson), Tin Man (Eric Lindblom), and Lion (Colton Zawisza) on an unforgettable journey. Watch as characters such as the Wicked Witch (Brianne Lopez), Glinda (Lyn Nagel), Uncle Henry (John Mullen), and the Wizard of Oz (Adam Dziob) come to life backed by a full orchestra. Experience beloved songs and this timeless story in a whole new way. It’s the Wizard of Oz like you’ve never seen – or heard – before! Joining the cast as an ensemble are Nick Panella and Tony Zhang, with children Anna Attanassio, Robert Boulay, Sharon Boulay, Andrew Eifes, Riley Gavin, Liv Hoffman, and Mia Waite as the Munchkin chorus. The show is directed and choreographed by Shelby Griffin, with musical direction by T.J. Thompson.
