NAUGATUCK, CT — The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Naugatuck is currently at 97, according to the Naugatuck Valley Health District.

In an update to Naugatuck residents this past weekend, Mayor Pete Hess noted that on April 7 the Borough had 52 cases and that is now at 97.

"We are still in the acceleration phase of the virus, numbers will continue to increase for many reasons, including a lag in test results. We know the numbers will continue to rise, but we hope that the increase will begin to decline," Hess said this past weekend.

"So, what can we learn from these statistics? Well, the biggest takeaway by far is that social distancing is working in Naugatuck. Our statistics rise as expected, but the rate of increase is less than projected.
