Laurie Taf Jackson Withdraws from Borough Elections

Deputy Mayor Laurie Taf Jackson announced late Saturday that she will not seek reelection in the upcoming borough elections.

An open letter from Deputy Mayor Laurie Taf Jackson to the community:

It is with a heavy heart that I must withdraw from the upcoming borough elections.

The reasons for withdrawing my run for Burgess are personal and after discussing it with my family, I feel this is what's best for me and my family.

It's been a sincere honor and privilege to serve this great community over the last 10 years. I would like to thank my family, friends and residents who have supported me throughout my tenure.

Though I will miss serving in the capacity of Deputy Mayor, I will continue to serve this great community in my own way and be a true supporter in moving Naugatuck forward.
