I want to make you aware of a spectacular musical event that will take place in Naugatuck on Tuesday, September 6th, at 7:00 P.M. The professional vocal ensemble LYRA, from St. Petersburg, Russia, will perform that evening at Grace Lutheran Church, 14 Salem St. The concert will include Russian Orthodox chants and Russian folk songs, all sung a cappella and presented with warmth and humor. There will be a printed program, and announcements will be made in English by LYRA members. Following the concert, refreshments will be served while audience members have a chance to meet and greet the performers.
The LYRA choir community consists of approximately 25 professional musicians who tour and perform in smaller groups of 4 to 6. These small groups have performed throughout Russia, Western Europe, and the United States, and have won international awards. Naugatuck is one of several stops on LYRA's 2016 East Coast U.S. tour.

Grace Lutheran Church is thrilled to host LYRA again, after having enjoyed a superb concert and visit by the group in 2014. This time, the touring group will be comprised of the same 4 singers we hosted two years ago, plus an additional tenor.
Suggested donation is $10 per person to compensate LYRA for their travel and performance.
