Macy's Believe Campaign Donates $2 Million
Thank you for believing in the magic of giving.
Macy’s announced in a Thursday newspaper ad that the 2015 Believe campaign was a huge success and they are donating a whopping $2 million to Make-A-Wish.
“Thanks to all who participated in Macy’s Believe campaign and to our partners at ‘Good Morning America’ on ABC for their support. To learn more, visit macys.com/believe. Merry Christmas and may all your holiday wishes come true!”
This is the eight year that Macy’s has run the campaign. Beginning on November 6th, letters to Santa helped raise a million dollars for Make-A-Wish. For every letter dropped in the big red letterbox at any Macy’s, sent online at macys.com/believe, or written with the new Macy’s Wish Writer™ stylus and app, Macy’s planned to donate $1 to Make-A-Wish, up to 1 million dollars to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Make-A-Wish is a non-profit organization that grants the wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions. A wish experience can be a pivotal point in the course of a child’s treatment, making them feel better, and in some cases, even helping them get better.
Macy’s offered the script and score for ‘Yes, Virginia The Musical’ to any school free of charge this season so that theatre classes could easily present performances of this adorable musical for children. The Waterbury Arts Magnet School Theatre Production class taught by Nina A.Smith took advantage of this gift. Click here to read my review of this adorable musical.

The youngest audience members were invited to sit up front on rug squares to watch and were then encouraged to write a letter to drop off at the Santa Mail letterbox located in local Macy’s stores and at the Palace Theater lobby.
Kudos to the WAMS students on their assistance in reaching this admirable goal.
