Man Accused Of Assaulting 'Infant' Child: Naugatuck Police
Police said the accused "became angry towards the victim over the victim not drinking his bottle of formula."
NAUGATUCK, CT β Steven W. Elliott, 39, of Andrew Avenue, is accused of assaulting an "infant" child, police said.
At 4:30 p.m. on June 13, police responded to a residence on a report of a risk of injury to an infant, police said.
"It was discovered through the investigation that the accused became angry towards the victim over the victim not drinking his bottle of formula," police said in a news release. "The accused stated that he struck the victim in the head with the bottle of formula 3 or 4 times, the accused then slammed the back of the victim's head on his right knee."

Elliott is charged with risk of injury to a child, first-degree assault, cruelty to persons, first-degree reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct. He was initially given a $1 million bond, police said.
No other details were released by police.
