Man Accused Of Assaulting Woman: Naugatuck PD

NAUGATUCK, CT — A Naugatuck man, Christian A. Montenegro, 28, of Maple Hill Road, is accused of assaulting a woman which led to a minor injury, police said. At 6:48 p.m. on Oct. 10, police responded to a home for a domestic altercation.

An argument ensued between the accused and victim, police said. "The argument escalated when the accused grabbed the victim by the neck and pulled her hair causing minor injury. The victim attempted to call 911, but the accused took the phone from her and smashed it on the ground," Naugatuck Police said in a report.

Police said that there were young children inside the house at the time of incident. Montenegro is charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, interfering with an emergency call, and risk of injury to a child. He was given a $10,000 bond.
