Man Accused Of Killing Girlfriend's Cat: Naugatuck Police
The accused is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond, police say.

NAUGATUCK, CT β Christopher Monteleone, 25, of North Main Street, is accused of killing his girlfriend's cat, Naugatuck Police said.
At 11 a.m. on Dec. 9, police responded to an apartment on North Main Street to investigate a domestic dispute and police said they learned that "Monteleone killed his girlfriendβs cat."
"Through interviews with both the accused and the victim it was determined that the catβs death stemmed from a history of domestic abuse toward the victim and her cat. Officers located physical evidence, including the remains of the cat which substantiated the victimβs allegation that the cat had been killed by Monteleone," Naugatuck Police said in a news release Wednesday.

The catβs remains were transported to UCONN Necropsy Lab for an evaluation. Monteleone is charged with cruelty to animals and held on a $100,000 bond.
