Man Accused Of Stealing Car In Naugatuck Arrested: Police
Police said a man accused of stealing a car in Naugatuck last year was recently arrested on a warrant.
NAUGATUCK, CT — A New Britain man accused of stealing a car in Naugatuck last year was arrested this week on a warrant, according to the Naugatuck Police Department.
In a news release Thursday, police said a Toyota Corolla was reported stolen in July on Rubber Avenue.
According to police, a suspect arrived in another car that was stolen out of Bristol and had been used in a commercial burglary there.

The Toyota was found the following day in Bristol, police said.
According to police, officers obtained evidence from the Toyota that was examined at the State of Connecticut Forensic Lab.

After further investigation, officers identified Jose Torres, 37, of New Britain, as a suspect in the car theft, according to police.
The department obtained an arrest warrant for Torres, which was served by officers during a court appearance Tuesday in Waterbury, according to police.
Torres was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle and conspiracy to commit larceny of motor vehicle.
Torres was arraigned in court Tuesday and remains in the custody of the Connecticut Department of Corrections at this time, according to police.
