Man Asks 15-Year-Old Girl To Get Into His Car: Naugatuck Police

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck Police are investigating a suspicious incident where a man is accused of approaching a 15-year-old girl and asking her to get in his vehicle, police said.

At 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Naugatuck police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle/suspicious person around the 500 block of North Church Street near Bradbury Street, police said.

Officers spoke with a 15 year-old female who advised that at 2:15 p.m. she went into the driveway of her home to remove an item from a vehicle. Upon doing so a car operated by a unknown Hispanic male pulled in front of the driveway and called to her, police said.

The female juvenile advised that the man asked her to “come into the vehicle and go for a ride with him over the bridge,” police said. The 15 year-old stated that she panicked and ran into her house and immediately alerted a family member who called police, police said.

The teen described the operator as a “Latin male, short black hair with no facial hair approximately in his mid 30’s," police said. She advised that the man appeared to have an average build and did not speak with an accent.

She was unable to obtain a clothing description and did not notice any tattoos or other identifying features. The 15 year-old stated that she also observed what she believed to be a small child in the passenger seat, police said.

The 15 year-old female was unable to identify the vehicle make/model or registration but described the vehicle as a “newer style four door, black in color car that appeared to be clean looking," police said.
