Man Chases Victim With Hammer: Naugatuck Police
Police stressed that the accused never struck the victim during the incident.
NAUGATUCK, CT β A Naugatuck man, Maxwell Santos, 22, of Brookside Avenue is accused of chasing the victim around with a hammer, police said.
On Sunday at 7:50 a.m. police responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. It was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim that escalated and became physical when, according to the victim, the accused chased the victim with a hammer, police said.
The victim locked themselves into a bedroom, police said. The accused then tried to break the door down with the hammer, police said.

Police said Santos never struck the victim during the incident. He was charged with disorderly conduct and released after posting a $2,500 bond.
