Man Dead After Shooting Outside Waterbury Courthouse: Reports
A man who was shot outside a courthouse in Waterbury has died, according to media reports.
WATERBURY, CT — A man who was shot outside a Waterbury courthouse Thursday morning has died, according to media reports.
NBC Connecticut reports the man was shot as he was leaving Waterbury Superior Court on Grand Street around 11:45 a.m. Police believe the 26-year-old Waterbury man was present at court proceedings earlier that day.
When officers arrived outside the courthouse, they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound, WTNH News 8 reports. He was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

According to Eyewitness News 3, police said a suspect fled the scene before officers arrived in the area. Police also noted this was an active and isolated incident.
The man's identity has not been released by police as of Thursday evening.
