Man Engages Police In Pursuit: Naugatuck Police

The accused was released on a $10,000 bond, police said.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” A Waterbury man, George H. Gaston, 34, of Lakeview Avenue is accused of engaging police in a pursuit, Naugatuck Police said.

At 8:17 p.m. on Feb. 27, police initiated a motor vehicle investigation in the area of Route 8 South at Exit 26. When the officer tried to approach the vehicle, the accused refused to stop and engaged the officer in pursuit, police said.

"The pursuit was broken off by the officer and the officer caught up with the accused at a residence in Waterbury that evening. The accused was then taken into custody," police said in a news release. "Through the officer’s investigation the accused was found to be recklessly operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle with an improper registration plate."

Gaston is charged with engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving and interfering with an officer. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
