Man Fired Gunshot During Dispute: Naugatuck Police

A man is accused of firing a gunshot during a domestic dispute in Naugatuck, according to police.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” A Naugatuck man is accused of firing a gunshot during a domestic dispute on Sunday afternoon, according to police.

Police responded to New Haven Road in Naugatuck around 1 p.m. on the report of a person shot during a domestic dispute.

β€œOfficers were able to quickly render the victim safe, apprehend and detain the suspect, and determine that while a firearm had in fact been discharged, however there were no injuries sustained,” police wrote in a news release.

James Craig, 58, was arrested on charges of first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree threatening, disorderly conduct and illegal discharge of a firearm. He was released after posting a $20,000 bond with a court date of Sept. 8.
