Man Punched Woman, Fled Officers: Naugatuck PD
Police captured him after a short foot pursuit.
NAUGATUCK, CT β A Naugatuck man was arrested after he assaulted a woman and tried to run from officers, according to police.
Police got a 911 hang-up call Aug. 11 around 1 a.m. and went to the Ion Bank parking lot on Church Street. They found a woman and a man in a vehicle and the woman appeared to be in pain. Robert Syman, 22, attempted to prevent the woman from speaking with police, but she told officers that Syman punched her in the ribs during an argument, police said.
Syman then ran from the scene, but was captured a short distance away on Church Street. Officers also learned that there was a protective order in place against Syman.

He was charged with violation of a protective order, interfering with police, third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.
