Man Punches Bar Patron, Threatens To Shoot People: Naugatuck PD

Police say when the man was told to leave the bar, he returned and threatened to shoot patrons.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” A Naugatuck man is accused of fighting with a patron and threatening to "shoot patrons" after being told to leave, police said.

On Feb. 6 at 11:50 p.m. police responded to Santos Restaurant on Church Street for a fight in which Johnathan Figueroa, 28, of Rubber Avenue, threatened to have a firearm, police said.

Police initiated a traffic stop on the accused a short distance on Maple Street, police said. Through an investigation it was learned that Figueroa had punched another patron, police said. After being told to leave the bar; he returned while threatening to shoot patrons and gesturing with his hands that he was carrying a pistol, police said.

The accused was also found to be operating under the influence during the traffic stop, police said. The investigation did not recover a firearm, police said. He is charged with first-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace and illegally driving a motor vehicle while under the influence.
