Man Swallows Bags of Heroin to Hide them From Naugatuck Police: Cops

Naugatuck police say the Waterbury man tried a unique method of allegedly hiding the evidence.

This incident below as described by Naugatuck police could have definitely been taken right out of an episode of the classic long-running ‘Cops’ show on Fox.

Police say on Nov. 14 during a motor vehicle investigation the officer observed what appeared to be folded bags of heroin inside the car.

Robert Overstreet, 46, of Daniel Drive in Waterbury, is accused of taking the folded bags and swallowed them to prevent the officer from taking the bags, police said.

Overstreet is charged with interfering with an officer, possession of a controlled substance and tampering with or fabricating evidence.

He was released after posting $5,000 bond.
