Man Threatens To Stab Ex-Girlfriend: Naugatuck PD

He was held in lieu of $100,000 bail after being arrested.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” A Waterbury man was arrested after he threatened to slash and stab a victim and her boyfriend Dec. 28, according to police.

The victim said her ex-boyfriend texted her and said he wanted to see her and then contacted her through Instagram live. Ruben Carmenate, 21, threatened to stab and slash the victim and her new boyfriend, according to police. He also said he would wait until police left if she contacted them.

The victim told police Carmenate had made threats in the past and that she feared for her safety, police said.

Carmenate was arrested and charged with second-degree threatening and possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $100,000.
