Man Tries To Steal Victim's Purse At Dunkin' Donuts: Naugatuck PD

The accused was held on a $20,000 bond.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” A Naugatuck man is accused of committing an attempted purse-snatching from a Dunkin' Donuts patron, police said.

The accused, Gregg L. Wallace, 24, of Burrit Place, was taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant after police were dispatched to a Buritt Place residence to investigate an unrelated incident, police said.

The arrest warrant stemmed from a December 10, 2018 incident in which the accused attempted a purse-snatching from a patron of Dunkin Donuts- 2 Meadow Street, Naugatuck, police said.

During the incident the victim and Wallace struggled for her wallet before the suspect eventually fled on foot after being unable to take the wallet, police said.

Through investigative efforts, officers were able to develop the accused as a suspect and eventually identify him, police said.

Wallace is charged with criminal attempt to commit both second-degree larceny and third-degree robbery. His bond was set at $20,000.
