Man Violates Protective Order, Assaults Victim: Naugatuck Police

The accused is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond, police say.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” John Christopher Cruz, 23, of Park Terrace in Waterbury is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond after he is accused of violating a protective order, Naugatuck Police say.

On Sept. 10, Cruz was arrested on an active arrest warrant while in custody at Waterbury Superior Court. The warrant was from a domestic incident that was reported to Naugatuck Police on March 31 in which the accused violated a standing protective order, interfered with an emergency call, and was charged with other offenses including assault, police said.

Cruz is charged with violation of a protective order, third-degree assault, interfering with an emergency call, and second-degree breach of peace.
