Man Wanted In Connection To Shooting Arrested: Naugatuck Police

Police said a man wanted in connection to a shooting in Naugatuck tried to flee from officers by jumping from a second-floor window.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” A man wanted on charges connected to a shooting earlier this year in Naugatuck was arrested last week in Waterbury, according to police.

In a news release posted to Facebook, police said Naugatuck officers arrested Calvin Hicks, 22, of Waterbury, on Dec. 8 at a Young Street residence in Waterbury in collaboration with Waterbury police, Waterbury Adult Probation and the Violent Crimes Task Force.

Police said Hicks was wanted on numerous charges, including charges connected to a shooting in January at a Galpin Street residence.

According to police, Hicks had previously eluded capture and was uncooperative during his arrest. He also tried to flee from officers by jumping from a second-floor window.

Hicks was held on bonds totaling $610,000 on charges of criminal possession of a pistol, failure to appear, disorderly conduct, second-degree burglary, second-degree assault, third-degree assault, breach of peace, first-degree reckless endangerment, interfering with an office, operation of a motor vehicle under suspension, misuse of plates, theft of marker plate, reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit, second-degree threatening and violation of probation.

"We want to thank our regional partners, including Waterbury Adult Probation, for their assistance in apprehending this dangerous suspect," police said on Facebook.
