Man Who Sold Crack In Naugatuck Heading To Prison: Feds
The Naugatuck Police Department played a key role in the man's arrest.
NAUGATUCK, CT β Miguel Torres, 39, of Waterbury, will spend the next five years in prison after being sentenced this week for distributing crack cocaine in Naugatuck, federal authorities said.
According to court documents and statements made in court, between February and May 2018, the Naugatuck Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration conducted a series of controlled purchases of crack from Torres.
Torres was arrested on a state warrant on May 8, 2018. On that date, a court-authorized search of his residence revealed approximately 47 grams of crack, other controlled substances, a digital scale that contained drug residue, and $5,746 in cash, officials said.

Torres has been detained since his arrest. On April 25, he pleaded guilty to one count of possession with the intent to distribute 28 grams or more of cocaine base (βcrackβ).
This matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration New Haven Task Force with the assistance of the Naugatuck Police Department.
