Manager Accused Of Stealing Nearly $12,000 From Naugatuck KFC: Police

NAUGATUCK, CT — The manager of a KFC restaurant in Naugatuck was arrested earlier this month in connection to the theft of nearly $12,000 worth of cash deposits, according to police.

In a news release, Naugatuck police said officers found numerous instances of missing cash deposits reported by KFC from early November through December totaling close to $12,000.

Working closely with KFC's director of operations and district manager, officers identified Iris Estella, 46, of Waterbury, as the last known person to have access to the missing cash deposits, according to police.

As the manager of a KFC restaurant in Naugatuck, Estella was directly responsible for overseeing the cash deposits from the store to the bank, police said.

Officers obtained a warrant for Estella's arrest charging her with second-degree larceny. She turned herself in on the active warrant on March 13, police said.

Estella was held on a $20,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court earlier this month, according to police.
