Good Afternoon,
Here is what we know as of today, we have six positive and confirmed cases in Naugatuck. We're also aware that a very large percentage of the tests have come back negative. There are still many cases of the flu and other related illnesses. Testing for the virus started in mid-March when people first started to feel sick. The initial testing was all negative. The first positive test in Naugatuck was taken on March 18 and we received the results on March 23. Testing takes five days and the results come in from all across the country. We give out the information as soon as we get it.

So where are we right now? Pretty much exactly where we expected to be. The virus is here, and has been here for at least 10 days. It's very catchy and spreads fast. We all need to remain vigilant and follow all guidelines and recommendations from the CDC. The cases in Naugatuck are spread out throughout the town there is no clustering of cases. The location of the positive cases is made known only to first responders as per directives from the state and local health departments. To be clear we can only give this information to our first responders.

Also the largest clustering of people in Naugatuck remains at our grocery stores. There is no problem with the supply of food, let's get back to normal at the grocery stores. Everyone needs to be smart think about this example; just today I watched 25 people pump gas and no one took any precautions of any kind. Be cautious this is not the time to look cool or to be tough.
