Good Afternoon,

Today is August 7 day four of Storm Isaias. At this time in Naugatuck we have 2,356 homes without power. This is down from yesterday’s high of 3,952 homes. So, obviously Eversource has arrived. They're chipping away at our power outages. And we're doing a hell of a lot better today than we were yesterday.

I want to thank a lot of people, Fran Dambowsky, our Emergency Management Director, our police chief, our fire chief, our entire team, our legislative delegation, our Deputy Mayor, Jack Betkowski, other people have been chipping in, and really helping us communicate with Eversource and get to the bottom of the problem.

A couple of announcements. Number one generators; keep your generator, at least 20-feet from your home, do not put it in your garage, and do fuel it when it's hot. We're getting a lot of generator problems so let's avoid those. Secondly, there's electricians going around town looking for work. Do not hire an electrician, who's not licensed, who doesn't have a Connecticut, E-one license and insurance. If you do, you're going to get in trouble.

Also remember that our polls for voting are open, everything's open for Tuesday, August 11.

Another plug, the census critical, every person who doesn't sign up for this census class has $2900, per year, per person so everyone signed up for the census. In closing, let's remain Naugy Strong and help our neighbors, let’s be safe, let’s be Naugy smart.
