Good Afternoon,

Today is August 9, day six of Storm Isaias. Today is also day number 159 of the pandemic. So, let's start off with the pandemic and bring everyone up to date. At this date today in Naugatuck, our count is 412. Now, I want to note that on July 20, we were at 416. So, there were some discrepancies in reporting that have been straightened out. On July 27 we were also at 412. So, we're basically holding our number. We're doing well. It's not over till it's over. Like most things in Naugatuck, we're doing a lot better than most, if not everyone. Let's just keep it going.
As to Storm Isaias, at this minute, we are at 580 power outages, down from 1,420 yesterday. Eversource is here working with our town crews. For the most part, the remaining outages are more complex situations involving other utilities, such as Frontier and Comcast. Frontier and Comcast are also here, and we're picking off each problem one at a time. The finish line is in sight. At Unified Command, we all love the fighting spirit of Naugatuck. So, let's keep swinging. We will not stop until everyone has power. We just learned that an additional crew arrived 15-minutes ago. So, let's keep it going. Remember, we're Naugy strong and Naugy smart. Be safe. Let's get through this.
