Good Afternoon,

Today is August 10, day seven of Storm Isaias. At this time the count in Naugatuck is 99 without power, down from 580 yesterday. As you can see, Eversource is clearly making progress. What seems to be left are the more complex cases with multiple utilities, snapped polls and other complications. Restoration is ongoing, and we will not stop until everyone has power.

Two other announcements; Without question, what we hear the most is, “is there going to be any storm debris, pick up solution.” So, on Wednesday night, I am recommending to the Borough Board that we enact a storm debris pickup program. We are seeking FEMA reimbursement. If we get it, it's a very simple question. If we don't get it, we're still going to try and find a way to get it done.

Secondly, if you receive SNAP benefits, and you've experienced food loss due to a power outage from storm Isaias, you may be eligible for benefits replacements. So, what you would do is contact DSS prior to August 14th, and their phone number is 1-855-626-6632.
