High School Sweethearts Set to Become One of the Only and Youngest Couples to Visit Every Country in the World

Lancaster, Pennsylvania - Hudson and Emily, a husband and wife who previously quit their corporate jobs in D.C. to RV all 50 states of America, have just announced a new mission to be one of the only and youngest couples to visit every country in the world.

The average American visits 3 countries in their lifetime. At 112 countries to date, Hudson and Emily, 32, visit every country in the world by summer 2024 – accomplishing a feat that fewer than 40 women and just a handful of couples throughout history ever have.

The high school sweethearts started their journey seven years ago, after Hudson’s dad died of a heart attack at age 55. While they had planned to visit all 50 states and were saving up for an RV, the impact of his death motivated them to turn their someday plans into a reality. In 2016, they left their full-time careers in D.C. where they were utilizing their MBA degrees and bought a 20-year-old RV off Craigslist to set off on a two-year roadtrip across the U.S.

“Our motto is ‘Think of the stories you want to tell someday, then go out and live them,’” says Hudson. “This used to be just a fun reminder to not wait for the next life stage or promotion to start making the most of life. But losing my dad – who was actually the first person we had told about our dream of traveling to the 50 states – put into perspective how precious each day is. It was a life changing moment for me to realize that we literally aren’t even guaranteed tomorrow.”

Inspired to more intentionally pursue their dreams, the small-town couple reached their travel goals of visiting not only all 50 states but eventually over 100 countries as well. Now, Hudson and Emily have just announced their new mission to visit every country in the world – which will make them one of the first and youngest couples in history to visit all 195 countries.

From sleeping on a volcano to finding themselves alone with lions in the Serengeti to couchsurfing their way across Europe, Hudson and Emily have proven that they are not afraid to take on new challenges. The couple shares daily travel videos with their followers on Tiktok and YouTube Shorts, and they hope their story will inspire others to enjoy the journey and live out their own dreams.

Hudson and Emily met in elementary school, started dating in high school, and have been married for 10 years. Today, the couple completely self-funds their travels and are proof that, with extensive research and planning, it is possible to travel on a budget.

“We always try to enjoy the journey along the way. The long bus rides and bed-bug infested hostels aren’t always the most exciting,” says Emily. “But we feel so grateful for what we’ve learned through travel, for the opportunity to see this beautiful world together, and for the incredible people we’ve met along the way. I know there will be challenges ahead as we try to visit every country, but our hope is to always try to remember to enjoy the journey – and we’ll see where that continues to lead!”
