Meet Student Resource Officers for Naugatuck Public Schools

Each day leading up to the 1st day the NPD is introducing the #teamNPD School Resource Officers.

It’s back to school week Naugatuck! We know the parents are excited, but we’re hoping the kids are too! Each day leading up to the 1st day we are going to be introducing our #teamNPD School Resource Officers.

First up, the new SRO of Naugatuck High School, Officer Lavoie! Officer Lavoie began his police career in the city of Waterbury before transferring over to Naugatuck and has a combined 10 years of police experience. He currently serves as a Field Training Officer, a member of our PEER Support team, a DARE instructor and is part of the bike unit.

We asked SRO Lavoie some quick fun facts to help students get to know him.

Another day closer to school, another SRO Spotlight! Introducing the returning SRO of City Hill Middle School, Officer Miranda.

Officer Miranda has well over 20 years police experience. He completed his career at New Haven Police Department before transferring here to Naugatuck. He currently is a member of our traffic unit.

What you’re looking forward to most this year: Interacting with the students and being a positive role model!

Happy 1st Day of School Naugatuck! With that is our last SRO Spotlight. Introducing our first ever Elementary School Resource Officer, Officer Fulton! He will be responsible for all our younger age schools and will spend time at each of them. Officer Fulton has 5 years of police experience. He currently serves as a member of the PEER Support team, a member of the Traffic Unit, Drone Unit, Field Training Officer, and is a Draeger Certified Instructor.

Favorite school lunch: Chicken Tenders with Fries
Favorite holiday: Halloween
Favorite Sport/ Team: Baseball- Yankees
What you’re looking forward to most this year: Making a lot of new friends!
