Members of the community are asked to refrain from flushing wipes, paper towels and similar products down toilets.

These items will clog sewers and cause backups and overflows at wastewater treatment facilities, and potentially in your own home, creating an additional public health risk in the midst of the COVID-19 virus outbreak.

Even some wipes labeled “flushable” will clog pipes and interfere with sewage collection and treatment. These products do not readily break down and cause backups in sewer pipes and clog pumps and equipment.
