Motor Vehicle Stop Leads To Drug Charge: Naugatuck Police
Police say the accused also provided officers with the wrong name.
NAUGATUCK, CT β A Waterbury man, Allan Matthew Marin, 27, of Bank Street, is accused of possessing a controlled substance that appeared to be packaged for sale, Naugatuck Police said. At 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 21, a police officer stopped a car in the area of Route 8 South by Exit 26.
Through the officerβs investigation the accused was found to be operating an unregistered motor vehicle with a suspended license, police said. Marin was also found in possession of a controlled substance along with paraphernalia, which was consistent with packaging for sale, police said.
The accused also interfered with the officer's investigation by giving the wrong name, police said. Marin is charged with motor vehicle offenses, criminal impersonation and sale of a controlled substance.
