Naugatuck Approves First Day Of School For Students
The school board also made other changes to the school calendar.

The Board of Education voted last night to make Sept. 2 the first day of school for students. This will allow teachers & staff to have a few extra days of professional development at the beginning of the year to learn about all the changes in our protocols and prepare for the different ways they will be teaching this year.

Sept. 2-4 will be a half-day for students, with teachers doing professional development in the afternoon.
Sept. 8-Oct. 2 will be early dismissal for students learning in-person with online learning from home in the afternoon.

A few of the half-days later in the year were removed to make up for the dates at the beginning of the year.
