Naugatuck Buys 12-Acre Industrial Parcel: Report

The owner of the parcel had owed the Borough $168,000 in back taxes.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck has acquired a 12-acre parcel at 0 Andrew Ave. for $400,000, the Republican-American reports. The land was once the home of Risdon Manufacturing.

The land is worth $724,000 and as part of the deal about $168,000 owed in back taxes was included, which reduced Naugatuck's payment to about $232,000, the Rep-Am reports.

Naugatuck officials say they want to own the land to ensure they have control over what may be developed there.
