Update: Naugatuck Cops: Armed Robber Apprehended in Waterbury

Naugatuck police say the suspect in the Subway armed robbery, Kevin Savage was arrested by the Waterbury Police Department Friday night but has not yet been charged by the Naugatuck Police Department. Police say they will notify the media once Savage is officially charged.

2 p.m. update from police

The Naugatuck Police Department has identified the following subject as KEVIN SAVAGE (DOB 11/22/1988) in connection with an armed robbery that occurred last night at the New Haven Road Subway Store and several larcenies occurring over the past few days in and around Naugatuck. It is also believed that Savage is connected to similar crimes in neighboring communities including Waterbury.

Kevin Savage is described as a black male, Approx 6’-06” Tall, 248 Lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. Savage is suspected to be driving a stolen gray Audi A3 Hatchback displaying CT registration number “440-PUV”

**SAVAGE IS CONSIDERED TO BE ARMED AND DANGEROUS, as he has displayed a handgun and has used force in committing several of these crimes. **

On October 2 at approximately 6:21 p.m. the Naugatuck Police Department was dispatched to the Subway restaurant located at 1183 New Haven Road on a report of an armed robbery, police said.

Upon arrival officers spoke with employees who advised that a male entered the store displaying a handgun. The male then went behind the counter and pressed the gun into an employees side and took their cellphone and took money out of a cash register. The male then exited the store and as he left he threw the cellphone against the stores window.

The male suspect was described as a black or Hispanic male, approximately 6 feet tall with a beard, wearing a gray top and a white hat. The suspect was seen fleeing in a black Audi hatchback.
