Naugatuck Coronavirus Rate Dropping Slightly: Latest Data

NAUGATUCK, CT — Connecticut’s coronavirus situation continues to move in the wrong direction as winter approaches.

The number of people hospitalized with the virus reached its highest point since April. The average number of daily cases continues to rise, and the percentage of tests coming back positive is also elevated.

Naugatuck had 29.4 average daily cases per 100,000 residents and a positive test rate of 7.20 percent between Nov. 14-27, according to the state Department of Public Health. There were 30.1 average daily cases per 100,000 residents in the previous two-week reporting period. It’s important to note that a few cases can have a large impact on a municipal case rate, especially for small towns.

Naugatuck recorded 59 new coronavirus cases between Nov 26 and Dec. 2, according to DPH’s preliminary data.

Around 62 percent of Naugatuck residents are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus as of Dec. 1, according to DPH.
