Naugatuck Coronavirus Updates: 213 Confirmed Positive Cases
The number of deaths in Naugatuck as a result of the coronavirus has increased to five cases.

NAUGATUCK, CT — The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Naugatuck is currently at 213 and five deaths have been reported, according to the Naugatuck Valley Health District.
NVHD officials said they learned of three laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 associated deaths who were all nursing home residents in Shelton (1), Seymour (1) and Naugatuck (1).
"We also received one report of a probable COVID-19 death among a Shelton nursing home resident," local health officials said. "We extend our sincere condolences to the families of the individuals who have lost their loved ones due to COVID-19 complications. Deaths reported to and by NVHD occurred within the last week, not necessarily since the last NVHD report. For public health surveillance, laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 associated deaths are defined as patients who tested positive for COVID-19 around the time of death; this is not a determination of the cause of death. The health district does not have further details including whether there may have been underlying health issues or other contributing factors."
