Naugatuck Coronavirus Updates: 264 Cases, 16 Deaths Reported
One additional coronavirus related death was reported in Naugatuck over the past 24 hours.

NAUGATUCK, CT — The number of coronavirus confirmed cases in Naugatuck increased to 264 and the number of deaths increased by one to 16, according to the latest information from the Naugatuck Valley Health District.
"Today, NVHD learned of two laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 associated deaths among Valley residents," local health officials said. One individual was a Naugatuck male in his 70s and the other individual was a female nursing home resident in her 80s in Shelton. We extend our sincere condolences to the families of the individuals who have lost their loved ones due to COVID-19 complications."
Deaths reported to and by NVHD occurred within the last week, not necessarily since the last NVHD report. For public health surveillance, laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 associated deaths are defined as patients who tested positive for COVID-19 around the time of death; this is not a determination of the cause of death. The health district does not have further details including whether there may have been underlying health issues or other contributing factors.
