Naugatuck Fire Department Looking To Hire A Dispatcher

The applications are "to develop a hiring list for future dispatcher openings," according to officials.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” The Naugatuck Fire Department is developing a list of candidates for future dispatcher positions, according to officials.

When the department expects to hire a new dispatcher was not disclosed, but the salary for the position pays $46,868.64.

"This is an IAFF [International Association of Fire Fighters] position working 24 [hours] on/72 [hours] off at fire HQ," officials said. "Dispatchers are assigned to one of the four shifts. Naugatuck Fire dispatch is not a PSAP [public safety answering point]."

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, and have at least one year of dispatcher experience.

Additionally, candidates need "basic computer operating skills, including but not limited to: word processing and paging programs, input and retrieve information from spreadsheets and databases."
