Naugatuck High Counselor Named Assistant Director Of Special Services

A director of counseling at Naugatuck High School has been named the new assistant director of special services for the district.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A director of counseling at Naugatuck High School, has been named the new assistant director of special services for Naugatuck Public Schools.

According to a news release, Nicole Jeanetti joined Naugatuck Public Schools last year. Prior to that, she worked as a school counselor at Fairfield Warde High School in Fairfield for 13 years.

"As a passionate advocate for all students," Jeanetti said in a news release, "I am excited for the opportunity to support students, families, and staff throughout the district to plan and implement programs that meaningfully meet our students' needs as they progress in their development as Naugatuck's Vision of the Graduate."

As a counselor, Jeannetti has worked on programs for student success, led professional development and coordinated special education plans, according to the district.

"I'm eager for Ms. Jeanetti to assume her role as the assistant director of special services," Superintendent Christopher Montini said in a news release. "Ms. Jeanetti demonstrated leadership and commitment to NPS in her previous role. I have every confidence that Ms. Jeanetti will bring a passion and expert skill set to the important work of supporting our students and the Special Services Department."

Jeanetti earned her MA in school counseling from Providence College in 2007, her CAS in administration from Sacred Heart University in 2013 and is currently pursuing her doctorate in education from the University of New England.
